How to Wash and Care for Your Human Hair Wig
Follow these steps to keep your wig looking its best:
1. Comb the Wig
- Gently comb the wig using a wide-tooth comb to remove any tangles.
- Always start from the ends and work your way up to prevent breakage.
2. Check Clips and Turn Wig Cap Inside Out
- Ensure all clips are closed to prevent the hair from tangling during washing.
- Turn the wig cap inside out to align the hair with the hand-tied direction for washing.
3. Add Shampoo to Water and Submerge the Wig
- Fill a tank or basin with lukewarm water (under 50 degrees Celsius).
- Add an appropriate amount of sulfate-free shampoo.
- Submerge the wig and gently wash it, focusing on the wig cap. Avoid rubbing or twisting the hair.
4. Rinse Out Shampoo
- Rinse the shampoo out thoroughly with warm water (under 50 degrees Celsius).
- Let the water flow from the wig cap down to the ends of the hair.
5. Condition the Hair and Rinse
- Apply conditioner to the hair, avoiding the wig cap.
- Submerge and gently work the conditioner through the strands.
- Rinse out the conditioner thoroughly with warm water (under 50 degrees Celsius), ensuring no residue is left.
6. Turn Back Wig Cap, Comb, and Air Dry
- Turn the wig cap right-side out.
- Gently comb the wig to remove any tangles.
- Place the wig on a wig stand to air dry completely. Avoid using heat to dry the wig.
